The objective and focus of this programme is to bridge the gap of knowledge and skill, of officers and extension workers engaged in implementation of cashew and cocoa development programmes under MIDH and farmers/entrepreneurs or un-employed women on cashew and cocoa farming and processing. The programme provides appropriate training to the farmers in various aspects of cashew and cocoa farming consisting of nursery management, management of diseases, canopy management, improved production technologies, post-harvest management and processing, drying and storage, preparation of primary and value-added products.

Details of major HRD programmes are given below:-

Farmers training on cashew/cocoa production technologies Objective: Provides appropriate seasonal training to the farmers in various aspects of cashew and cocoa farming consisting of production technology, varieties, high density planting, organic cultivation, INM/IPM etc. 100% assistance subject to a maximum of Rs.30000 per training per batch of 50 farmers
Skill training on value addition in cashew and cocoa Objective: Provides appropriate training to the farmers/entrepreneurs/youth in cashew and cocoa value addition (1-3 days) 100% assistance subject to 0.50 lakh to 1 lakh per training
Exposure visit Objective: To expose tribal and other farmers from non-traditional cashew growing districts of the States to the traditional growing districts of other States for familiarizing production and management practices being followed in the other states. 100% assistance subject to a 2.50 lakh to 3.50 lakh per visit for a batch of 50 farmes .
National Level Training on cashew Objective: To create awareness and skill, both managerial and technical by giving training to field level officials involved in the cashew sector. Directly implemented by DCCD/ Project based activity
National Level Training on cocoa Objective: To create awareness, skill, both managerial and technical by giving training to officials involved in the cocoa sector. Directly implemented by DCCD/ Project based activity
